Inside Our First Bedding Collection
Written by Rob, Founder of Petitcocon
In a few days, our duvets and pillows will begin shipping. These are the first pieces of Petitcocon bedding to reach real homes. Not prototypes or samples. Real products, made to be used.
The idea behind them was simple. I didn’t want to offer just another baby duvet that gets used for one season and put away. I wanted something that could adapt. Something that fits with the rhythm of the year and with the family using it.
Our duvet system is built with flexibility in mind. We created two separate products. One is a light summer-weight duvet. The other is a thicker spring-autumn duvet. Each can be used on its own, depending on the season. When fastened together, they form a winter-weight duvet that offers extra warmth during the coldest nights. These are sold separately, so families can choose what suits them best.
This kind of modular bedding is common in parts of Europe and is sometimes called a “duvet pair.” It is not often seen in baby bedding, but to me, it makes practical sense. You use what you need, when you need it.
Both the duvets and pillows are filled with pure silk. I have trusted silk for a long time. Not just because it is soft, but because it works. It helps regulate temperature. It resists moisture. It always feels dry to the touch. That matters, especially for babies, who need to stay warm but not overheated.
We use a fine cotton outer shell that adds breathability and strength. The result feels light, clean, and comforting. Not just to look at, but to live with. Every set includes a care guide. These are natural materials, and they respond best when looked after properly. But we didn’t make them to be precious. We made them to be part of daily life. Washed, touched, hugged, slept in.
There is no need for big claims. These are just duvets and pillows. But they were made carefully. And if they become part of your child’s everyday life, during naps, winter mornings, or quiet moments before bed, that will be enough.
