What Comes Next

Written by Rob, Founder of Petitcocon

Since the beginning of Petitcocon, I’ve tried to keep one promise to myself - that we would only make something if we had a good reason to. That reason usually starts with a material.

Many of the products we’re now working on came from a simple observation: that the market is full, but not always full of what we need. For the kinds of materials we believe in - natural, breathable, truly gentle - there are surprisingly few options available, especially when it comes to baby and children’s products. So in most cases, we’ve had to start from scratch.

We hope to bring some of these new pieces to you before the festive season - in particular, our silk-filled duvets and pillows. These have been in development for some time, and I’ve been closely involved in the adjustments along the way.

The duvets are designed as two separate weights - one for summer and one for spring and autumn. Each is a complete product on its own. But they can also be fastened together to create a fuller layer for colder weather. This flexible structure allows families to adapt without purchasing multiple bulky options, while preserving the breathability and temperature balance that silk naturally offers.

We’re also developing a few other things. Socks and underwear made primarily with silk and cotton, but thoughtfully blended with functional fibres where needed - to provide stretch, recovery and durability. These are essential items, and our goal is to keep them close to our material standards without compromising wearability.

Sleepwear is another area in progress. We are working on sleepsuits, pajama sets, and sleepdresses - pieces that are simple in appearance, but carefully considered in fit and fabric. Each is designed to move with the body and stay comfortable through the night.

None of these have come quickly. For each one, we’ve had to ask not just “what does this look like?” but “what should it feel like?” “what should it be made of?” “how long should it last?” In many cases, we’ve had to go back to the fibre level and work our way forward.

We’ll keep sharing more as these pieces come to life. Thank you for being part of the early days.
