Sustainability in Every Thread

Petitcocon views sustainability not as a brand attribute, but as a fundamental operational responsibility. From the selection of raw materials to the methods of production and packaging, every stage is approached with care and long-term consideration.

This commitment is not expressed through overt declarations. Rather, it is embedded in routine decisions that shape our products and relationships.

Responsible Material Selection

Our fibre strategy prioritises the use of natural materials. While our current collections focus on silk and cotton, we remain open to other natural fibres that meet our standards of breathability, biodegradability, and compatibility with sensitive skin.

In specific product categories where technical performance is essential - such as elasticity or abrasion resistance - we may incorporate limited quantities of synthetic fibres. These additions are applied with care and only where natural options cannot fulfil the functional requirement. All material compositions are fully disclosed. We believe customers have the right to know exactly what touches their child’s skin.

We do not use fibres that rely on heavy industrial processing while presenting as natural, such as certain forms of regenerated viscose. Instead, we maintain strict selection criteria based on clarity of composition, traceable origin, and long-term performance.

Extended Product Lifecycle

Durability is central to our design process. A sustainable product is not only made from responsible materials - it must also withstand repeated use and care.

Our proprietary silk-cotton blend was developed over several years to meet this standard. It combines comfort and structural integrity, allowing products to maintain softness and form over time. This approach reduces the frequency of replacement and helps lower overall material consumption.

Manufacturing Practices

We work exclusively with manufacturing partners who demonstrate a shared commitment to responsible production. Selection criteria include transparent sourcing, labour ethics, and environmentally considerate practices throughout weaving, dyeing and finishing.

Production is limited to controlled batch volumes to reduce inventory waste. Each phase is monitored with the goal of achieving quality at every stage rather than speed or scale.

Ongoing Commitment

Sustainability at Petitcocon is not a completed initiative. It is a framework for how we make decisions - and a standard we hold ourselves to as the company grows.

As our product range evolves and new material technologies emerge, we will continue to refine our practices with transparency and purpose.

The Value of Silk

Silk is soft, breathable, and quietly protective - but rarely used in modern textiles. Here’s why Petitcocon chose it, and how we made it work for babies.
